Cuando viajamos a algún lugar en la altura puede que tengamos síntomas que van a hacer que los primeros días del viaje sean un sufrimiento que pensamos que nunca acabará gracias al soroche. El soroche o mal de altura se trata de la falta de adaptación del organismo a las alturas y todos los síntomas que generan en nuestro cuerpo. Empieza desde dolores de cabeza, mareos hasta náuseas y cansancio extremo. Muchas personas o la mayoría realmente, también sienten su digestión bastante lenta. Así que si vas a viajar a algún lugar de altura y quieres aprovecha al máximo tu viaje sintiéndote bien y combatir el soroche de manera natural, tienes que seguir estos tips.

Un día antes:

  • Trata de comer ligero, no consumas frituras ni muchos productos de panadería con harina blanca y azúcar refinada. Procura siempre tener vegetales en tus platos principales.
  • Evita el alcohol.
  • Hidrátate solo agua o infusiones naturales.
  • Toma infusiones de coca una semana antes de preferencia.

El primer día:

  • Apenas llegues te recomiendo tomar una infusión o mate de hojas de coca. Otros prefieren masticar las hojas de coca.
  • Otra hierba muy buena para evitar el soroche y mejorar la digestión es la muña que se puede tomar también en una infusión caliente.
  • Te recomiendo tener siempre aceite de muña para oler o colocarte un poco en la cabeza a la altura de la sien. Este aceite lo venden en tiendas orgánicas y naturales.
  • El día del viaje, evita consumir alimentos pesados y difíciles de digerir como carne de res, frituras, carbohidratos simples. Lo mejor es optar por alimentos de fácil digestión como cremas de verduras, cereales andinos, frutas, carnes a la plancha o sudadas y en porciones pequeñas.
  • Lo ideal es que descanses este primer día. Trata de respirar profundamente y si fuera necesario abrigarte.
  • Evita el alcohol y el tabaco.
  • Nunca pero nunca tomes tranquilizantes.
  • Hidratarte, pero no con los típicos 8 vasos de agua al día, sino que como la altura deshidrata procura tomar entre 3 a 4 litros de agua por día. Recuerda que el café no cuenta como agua porque te deshidrata.
  • Evita tomar bebidas gaseosas, bebidas rehidratantes deportivas, agua con gas y café. Pueden darte más gases y hacer la digestión más lenta. Tus aliados: las infusiones, sobre todo las que menciono arriba como la coca y la muña.
