Para todos los adictos al chocolate! ¿Realmente engordan, dan felicidad, son buenos para la salud?

Actualmente hay demasiada confusión acerca del consumo de chocolate. Así que en este post les explicaré algunos de sus beneficios para que los tengan en cuenta y sepan cuáles son los chocolates que realmente mejorarán nuestra salud.

Los que normalmente venden en tiendas y supermercados suelen tener mayor cantidad de grasa, azúcar, saborizantes y muy poco porcentaje de cacao.
Lo ideal es consumir chocolates con un porcentaje de cacao alto (a partir de 70%).

El cacao contiene cientos de compuestos saludables, como polifenoles, teobromina, vitaminas y minerales, donde destacan el magnesio y el potasio.

  • Reduce el riesgo de sufrir infartos, enfermedades cardiovasculares, ya que contiene flavonoides, que estimulan la acción del oxido nítrico, el cual mejora el flujo de la sangre y la elasticidad de las arterias, disminuye la presión arterial y es antiinflamatorio. Además, el magnesio que contiene el cacao, ayuda a que el corazón bombee adecuadamente la sangre y evita que se produzcan coágulos.
  • Previene y trata enfermedades no transmisibes como cáncer, diabetes y enfermedades del sistema nervioso. Esto se debe a su alto contenido de antioxidantes como epicatequina y resveratrol (también lo encontramos en el vino tinto).
  • Eleva el buen humor y es antidepresivo, ya que tiene sustancias que aumentan la serotonina y dopamina en nuestro cuerpo. En las mujeres la serotonina aumenta aún más que en los hombres cuando comemos chocolate!! ¿Será por eso que los chocolates son un regalo que no tiene pierde?
  • Estimula nuestro sistema nervioso y es un potente diurético debido a su contenido de teobromina.

Estos beneficios los podemos aprovechar al máximo, todo es cuestión de encontrar el chocolate adecuado en dosis adecuadas. Si el chocolate es más amargo, significa que tiene mayor porcentaje de cacao.
